It didn't have enough RAM, I had expanded it as far as the motherboard would allow, and it was just getting really slow for photo editing. Fortunately it still works great for my kid to use as a casual PC. So I decided to move to a laptop.
After much research, and knowing I didn't want to (nor could I afford to) go to Mac, I researched my options for Windows Laptops. Of course the Dell XPS as noted in this article came out on top, but it is quite pricey. As my pro work is a part-time gig, I didn't want to spend that much. Where I landed is with a MSI Bravo 15. It has 32 GB RAM, 15.6" screen, 1TB SSD hard drive, AMD Ryzen 7 core CPU, and 4GB AMD Radeon GPU. I am happy with it so far. It handles all my editing needs pretty easily. The only slow point on it is in saving to external drives, but those need to be upgraded as well. Ultimately this is a gaming machine, but of course many of the qualities gamers are looking for translate well for photography use.
