The manual way of stacking the photos is working of course, but would like to spare some manual work 😉

I personally found the manual stacking to work better for my project, as it offered more flexibility and control over lighting (basically making up for the imperfections in the way I got my shots 😛 ).

A brilliant article and one that will be VERY useful for me as I often shoot the pre-dawn and would love to add more sky movement without having to take 10+ minute exposure.

Thanks Luca…
So, if i need a 8 minutes exposure with a nd1000, i d better take a lower nd filter, stay within my 2 minutes limits and then stack 4 of them.

Am i right ?

Normal mode, you just alter Opacity

It’s not important the order, you can do it before or after. 🙂

Thank you very much Vladimir!

Yes, you can stack 2 minutes pictures, but they should be exposed correctly… so if your exposure time is 8 minutes, you should either raise ISO or increment aperture (whichever setting is more safe for your current settings)

Damn ! I really appreciate your awesome work !!!

One question : I’m unfortunately limited by 2 minutes with my G80 camera.
For example, if i use a ND filter that need 8 minutes, for example. Would it be possible to stack 4 pictures of 2 minutes ? Or would i have an under-exposed result ?
Thanks and Kind regards,
Vladimir

Thank you for the response maybe I didn’t specify correctly but I meant do change iso as well as aperature or keep those the same and only change shutter speed to take different lengths of shots

Hi, I did use raw files converted in TIF for the original work… I just used JPG to prepare the screenshots for the article! Sorry if it created confusion!
