Yeah I got an expensive one that should do sound triggering on a Kickstarter but I can’t get the thing to load up an essential firmware update, so its useless *sigh*

So long as you have something that works for you then thats the ideal outcome. Cant argue with the price either 🙂

Try looking on Amazon US site but make sure you find the RIGHT one for your camera, they have different options for different makes and brands of cameras as they have different settings.

Yes preventing camera shake is important esp with long exposure. My camera doesnt have Wifi so the phone isnt an option for me, plus its too big to use easily when doing my creative self portraits, but glad to hear its working out for you.

Wifi and your phone is a good option, if thats what you have available for sure. A phone is quite large to hold in the hand tho, and not always practical (like if you are doing self portraits) although the delay function works well, as you say.

If you have the right L plate for your camera it should have gaps in it to allow the cable socket to be used – I have a RRS plate on mine which you can see from the first two camera images in the article.

Thanks ..you lucked out and got a good one, it seems to be a common problem w. them, but not surprised, they are kinda cheap and on Amazon its common to get seconds or copycats depending on vendors… Its problems were most noticeable when I was set up to time a shot while jumping in the air, it fired off at a different interval every time. Ugh.. I want to try the “YouPro” but cant find it in the usual places.

I haven’t had any problems with mine, thankfully. Good luck!

I also have a camera with Wifi so I use my phone too. I also can’t really use a corded shutter release because I use an L shaped tripod mounting plate and this blocks the cable socket on the camera.
With family shots, where I need to be included in the picture (sorry I am not into selfies), I find it quicker and easier most times to use the delay function.

I have one similar to what you have and it is SO UNrelIABLE, i have given up on it and bought a wired one. I like the one used in this article, but cant find it anywhere. Any tips on where to purchase this unit would be greatly appreciated.
